Photons to inference. Inference to deliberation.

Engineering firm, software publisher, and operator of an integrated Mediterranean sovereignty stack — from packetized energy to civic intelligence.

From photons to inference

FractaVolta builds local-first infrastructure for turning solar energy into traceable capacity: measured, stored, routed, used, and audited.

The starting point is energy. The same packet logic then extends upward to compute, cognition, and civic continuity.

photons -> energy packets -> inference packets -> cognitive packets -> civic packets

FractaVolta is an engineering firm, software publisher, and operational vehicle for a broader Mediterranean sovereignty stack. It works at the interface between physical infrastructure and auditable knowledge systems.

For the French operational entry point, especially for Corsica-based owners, farmers, municipalities, installers, and local partners, see FractaVolta en Corse.

The packet transition

The dominant electrical model treats energy as a continuous, homogeneous flow:

production -> grid -> consumption -> abstract billing

FractaVolta treats energy as accountable packets:

source -> measurement -> storage -> routing -> use -> trace

A charged battery is an energy packet. A mobile battery or electric vehicle can carry a packet. A photovoltaic installation can become a packet source. A compute node can turn those packets into attributable inference.

The grid remains useful, but it is no longer the invisible default substrate. It becomes one peer, one backup path, or one arbitrage layer among others.

What we build

Energy substrate. Feasibility studies and system design for Energy Packet Network deployments: photovoltaics, batteries, mobile storage, DC-native nodes, safe 48 V interfaces where appropriate, local-first routing, and provenance-aware operations.

Compute substrate. Sovereign AI inference infrastructure powered by local or Mediterranean solar. CXU-priced compute on solar-backed nodes. Inference Packet Networks for bounded continuity when hyperscale systems degrade, become unavailable, or become geopolitically fragile.

Cognition layer. Cogentia is the open-source cognitive layer of FractaVolta: cognitive packets, continuations, cogentia.js, provider-neutral orchestration, and auditable knowledge production.

Civic layer. Inseme platform deployment and operations: multi-instance Kudocracy.Survey, Inseme Agora, and Ophélia AI mediation on sovereign inference backends where appropriate.

Why it matters

Solar energy is no longer scarce. Compute is no longer scarce. What is scarce, at every layer, is dependable capacity:

The highest-value use of local solar is not always exporting electrons. It can be storing, routing, and using energy locally as accountable capacity: water, cold, mobility, critical services, compute, inference, and civic continuity.

Entry points

French operational pages

FractaVolta does not maintain a full French mirror of every research document. English is the default language for research-grade source documents. French pages are created as derived products when a concrete French-speaking audience justifies them.

The current French entry point is FractaVolta en Corse: local solar, second-life photovoltaic installations, farmers, municipalities, installers, owners, pilot sites, and concrete operations.

How we work

Every deployment should produce its own typed audit trail. Every claim should be anchored at a stable URL. Every AI agent used in the process should be replaceable without modifying the toolchain. Every objection becomes a first-class contribution to the record, not noise to be erased.

This is governed by the Cogentia Commons methodology, the operational Pipeline method (pipeline on the surface, packet network in depth), and the source ↔ derived product distinction formalised in Derived Products. For the operational details, see Methodology.

Status

Early-stage. The architecture is documented across energy, compute, cognition, and civic layers. Local deployment pages have been added for Corsica. Prototype work is proceeding through Rossignol Node and related field-oriented experiments.
